I was just browsing my RSS reader when I saw the ttile of your entry. It grabbed me becasuse I was just thinking the same thing to myself, though my oppoinents are heart and renal failure, I used to be an athelete when I was younger. I just turned 62 last month, and though people say, "Hey you look good", I mourn my former body.

I hate that if a train is in the station, that i think twice before running. I miss using my Cannondale bike (out of fear more than anything), and yes, I miss the Dunkin Donuts egg and sausage croissant on my way to work, before retirement. (And if the truth be known, I miss... on occassion... my Kool cigarettes)

Anyway, I guess I'm just responding because I totally connected to the title of your piece (remember "I feelya man", and "I identify" ?) and wanted to let you know that you're not the only one experiencing it, and it's okay to mourn our loss and go for a short walk (in your case, with an oxygen device ;) )
