After the Rain, North Valley

North Valley Road, Indian Valley

North Valley Road is in a remote area of Plumas County, CA. North Valley Road and its intersecting streets connect Greenville, North Arm, Taylorsville and Genesee around the north side of Indian Valley. It’s a beautiful drive that I didn’t appreciate enough when I was a young school boy in the 1960s. There was a time that this road was merely a challenge to a new driver looking for excitement and confronting fear.

Today, I meander. I take in all the rare beauty, enjoy the smells. And I take extra care in my driving pleasure because there are mule deer and other wildlife all along the way. In the last few days, I have had the opportunity to record just a little of the grandeur that is Indian Valley, from the perspective of North Valley Road and the hamlet of Genesee. Most of the pictures below were taken just a few hours after a gentle rain. The light was warm and the colors saturated in Spring. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I did making them.

For the technically curious, all images were captured with a Nikon D810 and a Tamron SP 24-70mm F2.8 Di VC USD or Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD lens. I shoot RAW and develop in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
